Friday Linkubator Roundup | October 30 – November 5

I see you, late fall. Happy #NaNoWriMo, everybody. It may be a little too early to start thinking about the holidays. But it’s always the right time to think about links.

New features:

  • ARTCACHE interactive exhibit is at Columbia College Library in Chicago through November 15.
  • Book to Boogie: This mama hen is trying to put her chicks to bed. But her chicks (who are obviously not currently in library school) prefer to preen, prance, and strut than sleep in Chicks Run Wild.
  • Rabble in the library! The software group partners with libraries to create software for sharing and supporting local music.

Other news:locpubliclibraries07

  • Pretty. Amazing. Geometric goodness from salvaged tree trunks would make your apartment a lot more gorgeous.
  •  Are you an unabashed dance nerd? MOBB is likely to set visions of sugarplum fairies dancing in your head, then.
  • Oh. Hi, there, Minecraft.
  • Wow. It is a seriously tiny bible at the Smithsonian.
  • The first virtual museum in Vietnam does 3D scans of ancient relics.
  • Everyone I know loves public libraries, and so does Library of Congress. I’d buy these heart-warming images compiled as a coffee table book.

Fun stuff:

  • It is, in fact, early to be thinking about Thanksgiving. But I just can’t get vegducken off my mind. Not to be outdone by the carnivores, the vegetarians now have their own layered main dish. And 2015 is supposed to be its biggest year yet.
  • Next week printmaker Amos Kennedy will be at MIAD.
