Our Favorite Things: Art-Making Librarians

For today’s Favorite Things post, we’re celebrating some of the art-making library staff we’ve met over the last year!

Featuring: Rebecca Brooks – Laura had a fantastic time interviewing children’s librarian and art-maker Rebecca Brooks, the mastermind behind the graphic design and craft website Hafuboti.

Poetry in the Stacks – if you’re a poet who happens to also work in a library (or if you enjoy poetry inspired by libraries!), make sure to check out this new online publication, edited by librarian Erin Lorandos.

10 Invitations for Librarians – this wonderful set of “invitations” written by Lauren Gottlieb-Miller and illustrated by Oliver Bendorf was compiled to spark creativity among library staff members.

BiblioCraft by Jessica Pigza – our dear friend Jessica Pigza, also known as Handmade Librarian over at her website, came out with a gorgeous, inspired book of handcraft projects inspired by – you guessed it – library resources!

Featuring: Bryan Voell – we were just thrilled to meet Bryan Voell, Local Arts Librarian for Kansas’ Johnson County Library, who also happens to be an art-maker, writer, and musician. His collage work is awesome!
