Things have been a little hectic around here recently, so let’s do some catching up, shall we?
On the site:
- Rebecca Hopman from the Corning Museum of Glass clued us in to a very special “hidden” collection at the museum’s Rakow Research Library: the Whitefriars stained glass cartoon collection.
- We scored an interview with librarian+illustrator Lisa Nowlain!
- The fabulous Pages to Projects series by Rebecca Z. Dunn returned with an art project to explore this year’s Newbery Medal recipient Last Stop on Market Street.
- And the flower sculptures in the Pop des Fleurs Winter Pop-Up Garden at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh added a spot of much needed color to our winter wonderland!
Around our online neighborhood:
- The Tale of Kitty in Boots by Beatrix Potter to be published with illustrations by Quentin Blake!
- A new tool is being developed to capture and archive social media during historically significant events.
- Researchers find that fairy tales, such as Beauty and the Beast, are much older than originally thought–dating back to prehistoric times, believe it or not!
Enjoy the weekend, folks, and see you next week!
