On location at Harvard-Westlake Upper School Library

Today we have a cool resource to share with you courtesy of Shannon Acedo, Chair of the Library and Information Technology Department at Harvard-Westlake Upper School in Studio City, California. Many students at the school enjoy using the library as a location for filmmaking projects, so many that Shannon devised a library location form that she shares with us today.

Shannon writes, “The interest in filming here at HW is in part due to our location (we are in fact located in Studio City) and the fact that many of our community are in ‘The Business’ as the film industry is known here. Our Video Arts curriculum is a vital part of both our Visual Arts department and our Performing Arts department.

“I was [recently] approached by a student who is filming a short film and wanted to use the library as a location.  On the other side of the camera (as it were), I am very proud of our DVD collection (~1200 DVDs) that supports our Cinema Studies curriculum.”
