New features:
- Any book involving monkeys in story time is a guaranteed winner, including Count the Monkeys by Mac Barnett. Check out how to incorporate movement in this month’s Book to Boogie!
- Ferndale Area District Library hosted a fabulous event celebrating the Beatles, which brought in a crowd of all ages. How cool!
Other news:
- We revisited some of our favorite posts from the past this week: the Interactive Art Trail at Edinburgh Central Library (seriously, click that link) and a unique collaboration between Sanspointe Dance Company and Birmingham Public Library called “Life on a Shelf”.
Fun stuff:
- What if you could pick an apple with a WORD on it?? What a cool artist project!
- How much do I love these tiny portraits on homes done in thread? So much.
- September 1st means one thing to Harry Potter fans – HOGWARTS BEGINS. This year, the fictional first child of fictional Harry Potter went to school, so J.K. Rowling got in on the action.
- You know about these book-scented candles, right? Now you do. You’re welcome.
- Solar-powered manuscript preservation technology could be on its way!
- *snickersnicker* Updated Children’s Book Classics for Millennials on McSweeney’s.
