I can’t believe we haven’t posted about Maker Expo!
Probably because there’s just so much to say, and I guess we figured you knew about it already.
Maker Expo is going to be huge! Over 100 makers are coming together at Kitchener City Hall to show off their projects, lead workshops, help you make things and generally show how awesome this community is.
A whole pile of Kwartzlab people are involved, from nearly all the organizing committee to a whole pile of members in blue shirts volunteering to exhibitors like Don with his simulator sphere, Marius with OpenSCAD, Ravi with Bot Brawl, Drew with a two-storey balloon installation, Agnes with Big Kerplunk (and Giant Lite Brite and Paper Pirates). I’m probably leaving people out.
We’ve had amazing support from the cities and universities and colleges. High schools and libraries are exhibiting as well.
All the exhibitors are encouraged to make their exhibits interactive or instructive, so you can learn to solder, or learn about coppersmithing or try out some puppetry or mod your t-shirt or bag or try out wet felting or make paper or pens or knit or help paint a mosaic mural. We’ve got robots and Daleks and pirates and rockets and balloons and way more things than I can list in a blog post.
And if that weren’t enough, we’ve got all three Waterloo Region city mayors fighting for robot supremacy.
10-6, Saturday, September 19th at Kitchener City Hall. You can’t miss this.
